AENOR is backed by the Spanish National Accreditation Entity (ENAC), accreditations which validate the certificates issued by AENOR. Our company is the leading entity in the certification of systems and products in Spain. AENOR was the first certification entity accredited by ENAC (EN-45012) for the certification of Quality Systems (ISO 9001) and Environment (ISO 14001).
In regards to product certification, AENOR has also been, back in 1999, the first Spanish institution being accredited on concrete, cables and steel, and currently holds a permanent seat at ENAC´s certification Bodies Committee and is entitled to extend its accreditations to all the countries where AENOR have a local office or a subsidiary company. AENOR overseas´ presence brings in an additional value by being under the umbrella of various worldwide accreditation bodies.
CONFORMITY ASSESSMENT ACTIVITIES:
In the field of conformity assessment, AENOR is a benchmark in Spain, helping businesses expands into foreign markets, both in their presence in other markets as well as in exporting goods. Conformity assessment is the action carried out by a company, unrelated to the interested parties, by which it is declared that an organization, product, process or service fulfills the requirements defined in certain standards, or technical specifications. The main form of conformity assessment by AENOR is the certification, but also carries certain inspection and testing activities.
AENOR´s assessments give support to organizations in many fields, such as quality and environmental management, R&D&i, energy efficiency, risk management or CE Marking.
AENOR's own marks provide evidence of this certification and are a differentiating element in the market, improving the image of the products and services offered and building trust between clients and consumers.
AENOR Conformity assessment areas are divided in four main sections:
Quality of products, services and systems.
Environment and sustainability of products, services and systems.
Safety of products and systems (CE Marking)

AENOR´s EXPERIENCE MANAGING EU TRAINING PROJECTS:
The team responsible of International Training has been managing “BTSF – Better Training for a Safer Food” contracts for DG SANTE (former DG SANCO) since its ambitious and successful programme was launched in 2006. After several years of performance, AENOR has become one of the key contractors in the trainings of EU country member´s officials in several technical topics:
CHAFEA 2016 96 07 - Organisation and implementation of training activities on Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR);
CHAFEA 2017 96 05 & 2013 96 14- Organisation and implementation of training activities on new investigation techniques for official controls along the food chain;
CHAFEA 2012 96 06 & 2010 96 07 - Organization and implementation of training activities on audit systems and internal auditing concerning official controls on food to be held mainly for EU member states;
CHAFEA 2013 96 12 – Organisation and implementation of training activities on food hygiene at primary production.
In December 2016 AENOR started the management, as Lead company, of the project entitled CHAFEA/2015/CP/04: Services to develop and provide training in internet investigations for the consumer protection cooperation (CPC) and consumer product safety networks (CSN) ('E-enforcement academy'). The contracting authority of this project is DG Justice.
AENOR experience on CLIMATE CHANGE:
AENOR is the first Spanish organization and the sixth in the world accredited by the United Nations as a Designated Operational Entity (DOE) within the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) of the Kyoto Protocol to validate and verify projects to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in sector 1 to 15. AENOR is also an Independent Accredited Body in sectors 1 to 15 within the Joint Implementation Mechanism.
As an accredited DOE, AENOR is authorized to perform validations and verifications of the voluntary schemes Verified Carbon Standard (VCS), Gold Standard for Global Goals (GS4GG) and Climate, Community Biodiversity Standard (CCBS) and PLAN LIVE.
Since its accreditation in 2005, AENOR has acted in a total of 647 projects in validation and verification works, for which it has extensive knowledge of the regulations and regulations of the UNFCCC and other voluntary schemes. AENOR is a benchmark in Latin America and Africa where it has performed most of its work in the most dynamic sectors: renewable energies, treatment and disposal of waste, forestry and transport. In Asia, he has worked mainly in China, the Philippines, Vietnam, Indonesia and South Korea.
In the realization of these works, AENOR has worked for governmental institutions such as Ministry of Environment of Ecuador, Ministry of Industry and Commerce of Vietnam, the General Council of Protected Areas of Guatemala, Ministry of Environment of Peru ..., international NGOs, large private groups such as Acciona, Endesa, Gas Natural Fenosa and multilateral entities such as the World Bank and others similar: United Nations Program for Development (UNDP), Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), Andean Development Corporation (CAF), International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD), German Agency for Technical Cooperation (GIZ), etc.
LABORATORY TESTING:
AENOR owns AENOR Laboratorio, an agrofood laboratory which provides an efficient testing service, of great use to those sectors involved with food in some way (raw materials, processing industry, distribution and services) as well as for Administration, quality guarantees and security, enabling thorough food testing to be carried out and analysing all factors involved in food preparation, with the sole purpose of offering safe, quality products to consumers.
AENOR Laboratorio has the accreditation of ENAC for carrying out microbiological and physical-chemical analyzes in food and drinking water, scope 731 / LE1555 PDF format. Likewise, it is authorized to use the seal of the International Accreditation Cooperation of Laboratories and Organisms (ILAC). The inclusion of the ILAC seal in the accredited reports means that the clients of AENOR Laboratorio will not need to analyse their products in laboratories of third countries, which facilitates the export.
AENOR AS AN ACCREDITATED BODY ON ISO 17021
AENOR is accredited on ISO 17021 and carry out more than 25.000 audits per year with its own staff across 65 countries.
AENOR is accredited by ENAC (Spanish Accreditation Body). ENAC is a signatory of the mutual recognition agreements on an international level between accreditation bodies all over the world, nevertheless, in order to widen its accreditation and recognition in third countries outside the EU, AENOR decided to also be accredited in countries such as USA, Brazil, Mexico and Ecuador by ANAB.

AENOR has 13 permanent Delegations over the World, mainly in Latin America where AENOR is an active conformity assessment body in the following countries: Mexico, El Salvador, Dominican Rep, Ecuador, Peru, Colombia, Chile and Brazil.
