About
Humanity for Development and Prosperity Organization (HDPO) is an International Non-Governmental Humanitarian Organization (INGO) fully registered in Sudan with HAC at Federal and State levels. HDPO has been operating since 2018 focusing on emergency response and developmental intervention with the focus on life-saving and poverty reduction interventions such as Education, WASH, Health and Nutrition, Food Security, Livelihoods, Emergency Shelter/ NFIs and Protection. We mainstream Gender and Environment protection in our programming and use conflict sensitive programming approaches. HDPO has throng footprint and presence in Sudan particularly Darfur Sub Region including hard to reach areas. Therefore, HDPO continues operating and implementing projects including emergency response programmes that focus on saving life; building community resilience; health and nutrition programming which is aimed at reducing morbidity and mortality among children less than five years of age and women of productive age. HDPO Has a permanent office in North Darfur with experienced staff who have years of serving in the humanitarian programing. HDPO also has access to the hard-to-reach area over Darfur region, using its network within the communities and number of volunteers who been trained over the past projects. The technical team (directors and coordinators) who support the program and intervention from Port Sudan, Kampala are essential and added value used in strengthening HDPO position in the field. Despite the current volatile security situation in Sudan, HDPO has resiliently continued to serve the people in need. With Support from the people of United States of America- USAID extended through IOM, and SRH supply kits from UNFPA through SMOH ND, HDPO implemented a four-month (1-June-2023 to 30September-2023) under Rapid Response Fund (RRF) intervention project to address the immediate needs of the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and host communities in North Darfur State. This project provided lifesaving services in the sectors of Health and nutrition, Protection, Water and Sanitation (WASH) through providing mobile clinic services in areas with acute health service needs. The response was following the rapid needs assessment carried out by HDPO in South El-Fasher on 29th -30th May 2023. HDPO is starting another 4months integrated Health and Nutrition, WASH, Protection (General protection, Child Protection and GBV mainstreamed) RRF project in January 2024 in rural El-Fasher and expanding fully fledged mobile clinics with SRH services in 3 locations of Magdoub B, Um Hagalij and Shagra B. HPDO boasts of very competent staff both International and National with rich emergency and development humanitarian experience. HDPO has a strong Management and compliant response mechanism systems that are self-perpetuating and has experience in managing funds from donors such as USAID, ECHO and UN AFP donations.
