About
Who We Are
The dream of transforming the lives of São Paulo society, through consistent and lasting actions, brought together a group of 20 businessmen from São Paulo, affiliated with the Rotary Club of São Paulo, who, in an entrepreneurial manner and independent of any organization, and having education as a fundamental principle, established the São Paulo Rotarian Foundation in 1946.
Challenged to make their ideals of serving the community a reality, this group took on the legal and financial responsibilities of the São Paulo Rotarian Foundation, committing to the dream and to building up assets through personal donations.
Other idealists gradually joined the initial group, further strengthening the proposal of the new institution. Initially, the São Paulo Rotarian Foundation took over two educational institutions that already existed at the time: the Liceu Nacional Rio Branco (today the Colégio Rio Branco) and the Lar Escola Rotary in the city of Cotia (today the Centro Profissionalizante Rio Branco).
In constant evolution and development, one of the important milestones in the institution's history was the inauguration of its headquarters in the Higienópolis neighborhood in 1960. The ceremony was attended by important leaders, including the then President of the Republic Juscelino Kubitschek, who associated this great work with the progress experienced by the country.
Over the years, Colégio Rio Branco has strengthened its role as an important educational center in the city of São Paulo and, at the same time, expanded its educational activities at the unit located in Cotia.
