EDUKEY GENDER SUPPORT ORGANISATION

Edukey Gender support organization is nonprofit Civil Society Community Based Organization founded by a group of educated, dynamic, development centered, empathetic with vulnerable young people and women with the mandate of empowering humanity with knowledge, skills, information, protection, survival and development of vulnerable young people in the communities of Uganda. Edukey Gender support organization is based in Mangaliba – Nakisunga Sub County - Mukono district - Uganda.

To empower young people and women with knowledge, skills and information for social, economic, psychological and emotional development, wellbeing and self-sustainability

Registered past Achievements.

Education and sponsorship program

·       Established a primary school but need support to be completed

·       Supported 167 vulnerable children to attend school with tuition, scholastic materials and uniform

·       Employed 12 people as teachers and support staff

Skills development

§  Empowered 43 young people with employable skills in tailoring

§  Empowered 33 young people in hair dressing trainings

§  Trained 65 people in computer literacy

Women Economic empowerment

·       Trained 25 women in savings and income generating activities

·       Have supported 25 women with income generating activities to boost their small business

·       Trained women in Literacy education

Health, hygiene and sanitation promotion:

§  Trained 65 girls in health hygiene and menstrual health

§  Supported 46 girls with sanitary pads to keep in school

Future Plans

Given the over whelming number of vulnerable children who need care, support and development, there need for strategies and plans to address and create opportunities for the young persons. The proposed strategies and plans by Edukey gender support organization include the following.

1.       Creating more partnership and networking with interested and willing individuals, companies, churches and organizations.

2.      Increased fundraising strategies  through proposal and concept writing to prospective donors

3.      Completion of the established EDUKEY  community primary school

4.     Continue supporting the vulnerable children with education

5.      Hands on training in tailoring, hairdressing and computer literacy

6.      Trainings in parenting, savings and income generating activities

7.      Tree planting and organic farming trainings
