The Municipality of Oropos, located in East Attica, Greece, was established in 2011 through the merger of nine former municipalities, including Afidnes, Avlonas, Kalamos, Kapandriti, Malakasa, Markopoulo Oropou, Oropioi, Polydendri, and Sykamino. Covering an area of approximately 338.18 km², it had a population of 31,811 as of the 2021 census. The municipality encompasses a diverse landscape stretching from the Parnitha mountains to the South Euboean Gulf and includes historical sites such as the ancient city of Oropus and the Sanctuary of Amphiaraos
