GDEV - Grassroot Development Support and Rural Enlightenment Initiative

The Grassroot Development Support and Rural Enlightenment Initiative (GDEV) is a non-profit organization committed to fostering sustainable development and improving the well-being of rural communities in Nigeria. By addressing critical challenges such as poverty, limited access to basic services, and restricted economic opportunities, GDEV empowers underserved populations. Our approach is community-centered, working collaboratively with local stakeholders to identify specific needs and implement contextually relevant, long-term solutions aimed at improving livelihoods, education, healthcare, and economic growth.

Our work is built on several key pillars, including community empowerment, gender equity, sustainable agriculture, peacebuilding, and renewable energy.  We strengthen local capacity through leadership training, promotes women’s rights and inclusion, and enhances food security by introducing modern farming methods. We also implements innovative waste-to-energy and solar power solutions, helping rural communities manage waste sustainably while gaining access to clean energy. Additionally, GDEV leads environmental conservation efforts through tree planting, sustainable land management, and climate resilience education.

Beyond service delivery, we actively engages in advocacy and policy dialogue to influence systemic change. We support educational and healthcare development, provides entrepreneurial training and microfinance access, and collaborates with government and civil society partners to amplify our impact. Through this multifaceted strategy, we have successfully launched transformative projects across Nigeria, reinforcing our mission to advance rural enlightenment and sustainable development.
