Powiat Biłgorajski is a county (powiat) located in the Lublin Voivodeship (province) of eastern Poland. Established on January 1, 1999, it serves as a unit of territorial administration and local government. The county covers an area of 1,677.79 km² and, as of 2008, had a population of 103,661 residents. The administrative seat and largest town is Biłgoraj, situated approximately 79 km south of the regional capital, Lublin. The county is subdivided into 14 gminas (municipalities), including one urban (Biłgoraj), three urban-rural, and ten rural gminas. Biłgoraj County is bordered by several other counties, including Lublin County and Krasnystaw County to the north, Zamość County and Tomaszów Lubelski County to the east, Lubaczów County and Przeworsk County to the south, Leżajsk County to the south-west, Nisko County to the west, and Janów Lubelski County to the north-west
