It operates under the supervision of the Hellenic Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Economy, Justice, National Education and Culture. It was founded in July 1995 (Official Journal of the Hellenic Republic 614/12.7.1995), has its headquarters in Athens, a branch office in Nicosia (Cyprus) and regional offices in Heraklion (Crete) and Komotini (Thrace).
