Institute of Meteorology and Water Management National Research Institute (IMGW-PIB)

The basic statutory tasks of the Institute include conducting 
scientific and research works as well as state services in the fields of:

meteorology,
hydrology,
oceanology,
economy and water engineering,
quality of water resources.

The aim of the Institute's activity is to meet the needs of society, the national economy 
and the state's defense in terms of its operation.

The Institute accomplishes this objective by conducting research, development and implementation works as well as by maintaining the observation and measurement network, conducting observations and measurements, developing forecasts and expert opinions.
