Saman Bank Corporation

Saman Bank Corporation is a privately owned Iranian bank headquartered in Tehran. Originally established as Saman Eqtesad Credit Corporation in 1999, it transitioned into a full-service bank in 2002 after receiving its banking license, becoming one of the first private banks in post-revolutionary Iran.

Saman Bank offers a wide range of personal and corporate banking services, including investment accounts, foreign exchange, debit and credit cards, and digital banking platforms. It was a pioneer in launching Iran’s first internet banking service and continues to lead in electronic banking innovation.

The bank is part of the Saman Financial Group, which includes several subsidiaries. It has also faced international scrutiny, having been listed under U.S. sanctions due to its ties to Iran’s financial sector. In 2024, Saman Bank was among the institutions affected by a major cyberattack that targeted 20 Iranian banks.
