REDD+ National Coordination CN-REDD

The REDD National Coordination Unit, which operates under the supervision of the Ministry of Forest Economy, Sustainable Development and Environment (MEFDDE), is the technical managing entity of REDD + process. It is supported by a network of REED + focal points designated within ministries involved in REDD + process; but also:

(i) the Public Authorities Platform, composed of representatives of ministries, the Parliament and the Economic and Social Council;
(ii) the Private Sector Platform, which includes the mining sector, agri-businesses, industrial operators;
(iii) the Consultation Framework for the Congolese Civil Society and Indigenous Peoples (CACO-REDD).

The Republic of the Congo considers the REED + a sustainable development tool and a real pillar of green economy "that will enable the country to play an active role in the fight against climate change, and achieve sustainable development goals.
