Agence Nationale de la Météorologie/ National Meteorological Agency (Burkina Faso)

The National Meteorological Agency (ANAM) was created by Decree No. 2016-1157/PRES/PM/MTMUSR/MINEFID of December 22, 2016 following an institutional development of the National Meteorological Department.

With regard to its missions of regulation, regulation, planning, control and implementation of meteorological and climate policy throughout the territory, ANAM is the competent national authority in matters of meteorology and climate. . By virtue of its attributions, it is also the approved national service provider for meteorological and climatic services not conceded by the State.

In application of the directives of the supervising Ministry and the orientations of the Orientation and Control Council and taking into account the context of its field of activity marked by climate change and the extreme vulnerability of our country in the face of its negative consequences, I aims to position ANAM as one of the best national meteorological structures in Africa in terms of the quality and availability of data and the quality of meteorological and climate services adapted to the needs of users.
