Parpública SGPS S.A.

PARPÚBLICA – Public Holdings, SGPS, S.A., was created through Decree‑Law No. 209/2000 of September 2, as a holding company for public shareholdings. It is a company with exclusively public capital, resulting from the restructuring of PARTEST – State Holdings (SGPS, S.A.).

According to that decree, which also approved the company’s statutes, PARPÚBLICA’s corporate purpose is the management of public shareholdings that form part of its assets, as well as the management of public real estate assets through its specialized subsidiaries.

In addition, under Article 6 of Decree‑Law No. 209/2000, PARPÚBLICA has special functions within the State Business Sector, including acting as liquidator for companies dissolved by the State. It may also be tasked with monitoring private companies responsible for managing services of general economic interest, by virtue of concessions or the granting of special or exclusive rights.

At the same time, PARPÚBLICA provides complementary technical support to the Ministry of Finance, particularly in matters related to the management of public financial assets, both movable and immovable, as well as other issues of public interest.

The vision of PARPÚBLICA is to safeguard the public assets under its responsibility, promoting their efficient management and appropriate profitability, in line with the policies and options defined by the State, its sole shareholder. It operates according to the values of rigor, security, and transparency inherent to its status as a public‑capital company, and in strict compliance with the legal framework of the State Business Sector.
