N:EA Napoli: Europa Africa

N: EA means Naples: Europe Africa. It is a non-profit association (Onlus) that acts and works in the field of international cooperation and human development, recognized since 2002 as a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the European Union.

The N: EA was born in Naples in 1987 from the long work experience in Africa of the architect Fabrizio Caròla (winner in 1995 of the Aga Khan Award for Architecture) to contribute to the increase of a new dialogue between Europe and Africa based on a mutual recognition of their values and qualities.

The N: EA overcomes the dichotomies of thought between protector and client, between superior and inferior in favor of an equal conception in which the different cultures and experiences can freely exchange and enrich themselves of their particularities and analogies, to give life together with a new civilization.

The city of Naples becomes the ideal interpreter and the privileged point of reference for this process, thus rediscovering, at the same time, the role of an international center of culture that it has had in the past.
