Tawazun Foundation for Public Health

Tawazun Foundation for Public Health is a Baghdad-based mental health initiative created to address Iraq’s long-neglected psychological needs, with a strong focus on women, children, and families affected by trauma, displacement, and social pressure. Tawazun provides culturally sensitive, evidence-based mental health care through qualified Iraqi professionals, working to reduce stigma and make therapy accessible, affordable, and trusted in the community.

Beyond clinical services, Tawazun is designed as a sustainable mental health ecosystem. It delivers training for psychologists, teachers, and frontline workers, partners with regional and international organisations, and uses remote and hybrid care models to reach people across Iraq. Its aim is to build long-term local capacity, generate reinvestable income, and create a stable, professional institution that will strengthen Iraq’s mental health system for generations to come.
