About

In addition to developing a resilience-building programme for children affected by earthquakes in Christchurch, Save the Children New Zealand is also developing longer-term programmes on home soil.

In New Zealand, our biggest goal is to help children and young people understand their rights. We do this by providing opportunities for them to play a role in shaping their future – by helping them become leaders and ensuring their perspectives are heard and respected by the Government and their communities.

As the New Zealand-arm of a global organisation for children, we are committed to youth-led solutions and believe that children and young people in New Zealand need a platform to voice their opinions on issues that are important to them.

We want to make sure young New Zealanders are given every opportunity to develop decision-making and leadership skills – regardless of their status or background.
