PME Engineering

PME was registered in July 2007 and took over the commercial operation of the following companies:

• Proprietary Manufacturing Ltd (PM) - Established in 1968, PM has designed and manufactured motor control centres, distribution boards, generator change over panels and PLC panels for medium and large scale factories and estates throughout Malawi.
• Proprietary Engineering Ltd (PE) - PE was established in 2001 to manage the operation and the assets of PM. In addition PE also provided electrical, mechanical, irrigation and water related design, installation and commissioning contracting services.
• Agritec Ltd - Established 1989. Agritec engaged in irrigation and water reticulation services, included civil, electrical and mechanical projects. It has been involved with some of the largest private irrigation projects in Malawi as well as water reticulation projects for Blantyre and Lilongwe Water Boards and in Mozambique.
• Barros Engineering - Mechanical machining work shop, welding services, precision machining for the Automotive industry
• EME Services - Electric motor, transformer and generator rewinding.
• Intertec Africa: November 2002 saw the incorporation of the staff and assets of Intertec Malawi into PE's contracting division, taking over their mechanical, electrical contracting, air conditioning and general maintenance operation as well as all their in-house experience.
