Employment Agency of Montenegro

The Employment Agency, as the Montenegrin organized labour market institution, is dedicated to support unemployed persons in Montenegro. To this end, it provides among others the following services:

·   Labour market research

·   Job-finding and work engagement

·   Consulting and informing employers and unemployed people on job opportunities and unemployment insurance

·   Organization of training and education of the unemployed

·   Vocational guidance, information and counselling professionals and the development of methods for career guidance

·   Preparation of proposals for employment policy

·   Preparation and implementation of active employment policy

Since 1999, the Employment Agency has continuously provided financial support to the development of small businesses. As part of the “Innovative Employment Programme” started in 2008, the Employment Agency provided credit support to unemployed persons who wanted to start own businesses (MoE 2010a: 15).
