The Hunger Project Sweden

The Hunger Project is a nonprofit organization working to eliminate hunger and poverty by 2030. With women in focus educates and strengthens people to abolish their own hunger and poverty. It gives lasting results and genuine optimism.

The Hunger Project are always working in partnership with people living in hunger and poverty. The goal is for them to become self-sufficient and that we should no longer be needed. What is required for the elimination of hunger differ from country to country. The key question is always: What is missing? Three basic components determines whether we can work together to create sustainable changes effective: social mobilization, gender equality and cooperation with local authorities.

We work globally and operates programs in 12 countries in Africa, Latin America and Asia. In Sweden, we work with education, information dissemination and collection to the global programs.

In total, the Hunger Project, approximately 380 employees, most of whom work in the program countries and local employees. Thanks to our dedicated local volunteers reached the Hunger Project programs out to a total of 20.6 million people in about 24,400 communities during 2014.
