The Red Cross Red Crescent Movement is the most widespread and most populous world humanitarian movement in most countries. The purpose of the movement is to protect the lives and health of vulnerable groups and to ensure respect for human life. The movement is based on voluntary work.
The Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies provide assistance and deployments in each country. In this way, the Red Cross movement ensures that the help is directly delivered to the groups most in need of assistance. The Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies are 190 but only one Red Cross club can operate in each country. Together, the International Council forms the Red Cross, the International Federation and the Associations, the International Red Cross and the Red Crescent Movement.
