IASS - Instituto Aragonés de Servicios Sociales / Aragon Institute of Social Services

The Aragonese Institute of Social Services (IASS) aims to increase, within the scope of its competences, the social welfare and the quality of life in the Aragonese community by promoting the conditions for the freedom and equality of citizens and groups, object of being able to make these rights effective and real.

The basic objectives of the IASS are:

-Make effective the public responsibility of the Government of Aragon in matters of social services in accordance with the powers attributed to the Autonomous Community in the Statute of Autonomy of Aragon, approved by Organic Law 5/2007, of April 20, and in Law 4 / 1996, of May 22nd, relative to the IASS.
-The optimal use of public resources in the field of social services, ensuring a decent and sufficient level of quality in the Autonomous Community of Aragon.
-Promote the equitable distribution of social services, tending to overcome territorial and social imbalances within the Autonomous Community of Aragon.
-The functional coordination of the activities of public and private institutions in the field of social services, through the establishment of agreements, concerts or any other formulas of shared management, which allows to achieve the maximum performance of the available resources.
