The University of Mannheim is one of the most respected universities in Germany and it is no coincidence that it occupies top positions in German and international rankings. But scientific excellence has to prove itself anew every day. A great deal of freedom is therefore required, also of a financial nature, in order to exploit the greatest possible potential in research and teaching and with the results to make a sustainable contribution to societyafford to. This need exceeds the state funds available, especially in the areas of internationality, digitization of teaching and future issues. In order to remain at the forefront nationally and internationally as “your” university in the future, a greater degree of financial freedom is essential.

That is why the non-profit foundation University of Mannheim was founded. It was created in 2005 from the commitment of the Friends of the University of Mannheim eV and the graduate association ABSOLVENTUM MANNHEIM.
