About
The Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) is the leading voice of the mineral exploration and development community. With over 8,000 members around the world, the PDAC’s mission is to promote a globally responsible, vibrant and sustainable minerals industry. As the trusted representative of the sector, PDAC encourages best practices in technical, operational, environmental, safety and social performance.
The work of the association is carried out by a 48-member Board of Directors, 16 committees, and a team of permanent staff. In 2012, the Board of Directors approved a five-year strategic plan for PDAC. This blueprint identified three priority areas to focus much of its resources and efforts: access to land, Aboriginal affairs and access to capital. Considerable attention is also being allocated to finance and taxation, corporate social responsibility (CSR), human resources, student initiatives, communications and public affairs, as well as heightening our ability to host the world-renowned PDAC Convention.
The annual PDAC Convention is regarded as the premier international event for mineral industry professionals. It has attracted more than 25,000 people from 125 countries in recent years and will next be held March 5-8, 2017 in Toronto.
