Orkestra-Basque Institute of Competitiveness

Orkestra-Basque Institute of Competitiveness is an initiative of the University of Deusto, through the Deusto Foundation, for the study of competitiveness and territorial development from its different research laboratories with three objectives:

• Contribute to improving the competitiveness of the Basque Country
• Promote the improvement of the welfare of citizens
• Generate knowledge in regional competitiveness

Set up in 2006, Orkestra's team promotes transformative research. This type of research is defined by the analysis, reflection, evaluation and proposal of actions, in a permanent manner, aimed at providing innovative answers for the resolution of the challenges posed, while at the same time acquiring research knowledge.

In this line Orkestra, which since its inception has been established as a success case in public-private cooperation, works with a large number of networks, companies, governments and institutions in numerous projects. In this way, in addition to being an agent of change to boost the competitiveness of the Basque Country , at present it has become an international benchmark in the analysis of regional competitiveness in a global environment.
