About
Special Investigation Service of the Republic of Lithuania (further – STT or Service) is an anti-corruption agency accountable to the President and the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania, whose mission is to reduce corruption as a threat to human rights and freedoms, the principles of the rule of law and economic development.
In pursuit of the aim to reduce the level of corruption STT acts in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Lithuania and international treaties, detects corruption-related offences, contributes to the development of the anti-corruption policy, carries out corruption prevention, coordinates anti-corruption activities of state and municipal institutions and agencies and encourages the public to show intolerance towards and engage in an active fight against corruption.
The vision of STT is to become an independent state law enforcement agency enjoying high confidence among the public, capable of efficiently detecting corruption-related offences and carrying out targeted corruption prevention and anti-corruption education and awareness raising of the public.
