Karuna Foundation Nepal

Karuna Foundation Nepal is a young entrepreneurial organization, operational in Nepal established in 2007 by the Dutch entrepreneur René aan de Stegge. After establishing we immediately began to develop our mission and vision, building an organization in the Netherlands and Nepal, launching innovative projects. Karuna's strength is to pioneer and create something new, replicable and sustainable. Karuna foundation with its theme 'saving children from disability one by one' has been striving to prevent disability with primary, secondary and tertiary prevention approaches from the very beginning of its establishment. In doing so, Karuna foundation has put families and children with disabilities at the core of our intervention. Our total budget is approximately € 400,000 per year. We have developed two innovative models: Share&Care and Inspire2Care.

Karuna Foundation is a learning organisation. We constantly make an analysis of the local situation by listening well, basing our work on the cultural values and opinions and thinking critically. Based on the lessons and experiences we regularly assess our vision, mission and strategies and readjust them if and wherever necessary. We work closely with local, district and state authorities, other development organizations, entrepreneurs and companies.
