DESCO , Center for Studies and Promotion of Development, is a non-governmental development institution that has been part of Peruvian civil society for 53 years, dedicated to the service of the promotion of social development and the strengthening of the capacities of the least developed sectors. favored of the country.
 
Desco  is defined as a private civil association for public purposes, which is related to grassroots organizations, social and political actors and State agencies, to contribute to the strengthening of the capacities of civil society and the development of development proposals.
 
The professional team of  desco  has knowledge and experience in the issues of poverty and inequality, citizen participation, development and local management, local productive development, environmental management and planning, management and social assessment, among others.
Mission
We promote democratic and development alternatives with the empowerment of the population with whom we work in the exercise and consolidation of their rights and the reduction of inequalities, generating economic, social, political and environmental impacts, to build a more egalitarian society and an inclusive development.
We are an important organization in Latin America that promotes the defense of democracy and development alternatives to improve the living conditions of the urban and rural population less favored and in a situation of vulnerability, and the exercise of their rights, in equity and social justice .
