About
The Youth Information Agency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (OIA) is the first youth information and resource association at the state level that deals with the development of youth policy in BiH. OIA stimulates and advocates the process of developing youth policy, strengthens and supports mechanisms for its development and creates a positive environment in which the emergence and implementation of such policy will be possible.
OIA is the Implementing Agency of the Joint Youth Program (ZOP) of the Open Society Fund BiH - Shoroš Foundation, through which it was created. OIA through its activities cooperates directly with over 200 local youth organizations in BiH, with different levels of government and government bodies across the state, and some international youth organizations.
The joint youth program developed by the OIA was created in November 2000 on the basis of the Human Development Report on Youth in BiH 2000 (UNDP / IBHI), then the FODBiH Youth Strategy and Conclusions and Recommendations of the Millenium Youth Conference of BiH (December 2000) . As a coherent program at BiH level, it is based on the following goals:
1. Increasing participation of young people in society,
2. Influencing the creation of youth policy and
3. Strengthening and structuring of the youth sector
The ZOP deals with the integration of the BiH youth sector into European flows, and by finding and linking other international projects and initiatives working in the youth field, keeping in mind its basic principle of "not duplicating already in common action".
