Forum Civil Peace Service - Forum Ziviler Friedensdienest EV

The Civil Peace Service Forum was established in 1996 with the mission to promote "the realization of the idea of a civilian peace service". The forumZFD is non-party and over-confessional. It is supported by 37 member organizations and about 130 individual members.

In accordance with the basic idea of "peace needs experts", the forumZFD offers qualification courses for peace specialists and training courses on civil conflict management in its academy for conflict transformation.

The forumZFD carries out civilian peace projects in the Middle East, the Western Balkans and Southeast Asia. These include the elucidation of the emergence and the consequences of violent conflicts, the establishment of dialogue between the conflict parties, the promotion of civil society and the reintegration of refugees and former fighters. Within Germany, our specialists as "municipal conflict consultants" support cities that are experiencing tensions in the context of migration and structural change.

The forumZFD calls for the expansion of civilian conflict management from the policy in Germany and in the European Union. It has co-founded the European Network for Civil Peace Intervention (EN.CPI) and is a member of the alliance of the global Nonviolent Peaceforce.
