ARPA Puglia, the Regional Agency for the Prevention and Protection of the Environment, is the Technical Body of the Puglia Region , established and governed by Regional Law of 22 January 1999, no. 6 , as amended by Regional Law 4 October 2006, no. 27 , hereinafter referred to as the Act of Establishment.
ARPA Puglia is responsible for carrying out activities and tasks in the field of prevention and environmental protection, as identified in art. 4 of the Act, in order to safeguard environmental conditions, especially in relation to the protection of the health of citizens and of the community.
The activity of ARPA Puglia is carried out in compliance with the principles of complementarity and integration of its technical competition with the institutional tasks of political, administrative and management management of the Puglia Region, as well as the annual and three-year objectives of regional programming and, paragraph 3 of art. 15 of LR 6/99, of the environmental control set by the Regional Council.
ARPA Puglia has public legal personality, as well as technical-legal, administrative and accounting autonomy (Article 2, paragraph 1, LR 6/99), within the limits of the framework established by its constitutional law, by the Regional Law of 30 December 1994 n. 38 , by the Regional Law of 4 February 1997 n. 7 , from theRegional Law 16 November 2001 n. 28 as well as other regulatory and administrative provisions of the Puglia Region.
