The Government of the United States of America, acting through its Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), entered into a US$ 175 million, five-year Compact, a grant from the people and Government of the United States of America to the people and the Government of Nicaragua, to promote economic development in the departments of Chinandega and Leon. The Millennium Challenge Account Nicaragua (MCA-Nicaragua) funds two major projects: (i) Road Rehabilitation and (ii) Value-added rural business development with an emphasis on environmental sustainability.

In accordance with the MCC Program Procurement Guidelines, MCA-Nicaragua, notifies the direct contract with the firm KPMG Peat Marwick Nicaragua, S. A. on 16 March 2009, for a period of 90 days and a total amount of US$ 28,000 in concept of audit services for the period of July-December 2008.
