1This Specific Procurement Noticefollowsthe General Procurement Notice for Financing of the MiningGovernance and Growth Support Project (MGGSP) thatappeared in the UN Business Issue No 802/11 on 23 June 2011.

 

2. The Government of the Republic of Malawi has received a credit from the International Development Association (IDA) and agrant from the European Union (EU), in various currencies towards the cost of Mining Governance and Growth Support Project (MGGSP), and intendsto apply part of the proceeds of the funds to cover eligible payments under the contractfor the supply and delivery of a Countrywide Airborne Geophysical Survey.

3. The Ministry of Energy and Mining now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for supply and delivery of the following:

Bidders must quote for all items specified in the lot. Bids not quoting forall items specified will be considered non-responsive and shall be rejected. The basis for bid evaluationand contract award will beby lot. If no bidder bids for all items specified in the lot, evaluation and award may be by item basis at the option of thePurchaser.

 

4.  Bidding will beconducted through theInternational Competitive Bidding (ICB) procedures specified in the World Bank's Guidelines:  Procurement of Goods, Works and Non Consulting Services underIBRD Loans and

IDA Credits & Grants by World Bank Borrowers,January, 2011

 

5. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from the Project Coordinator of the Mining Governance and GrowthSupport Project, and inspect the bidding documents at Address (1) below from 0800hours to 1700 hours (local time) (Monday toFriday) exclusive of public holidays.

 

6. A complete set of bidding documents in English, may be purchased byinterested bidders on the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a  non-refundable fee of MK14,000.00 or S$50. The method of payment will be in form ofcash or bank certified cheque. The Bidders will be responsible for collection of the bidding documents from Address (1) below.Electronic bidding will not be permitted.

 

  1. 7.      Bids must be delivered at the Address (2) belowat or before14:00 hours (local time) on 12 November, 2012. All bids must beaccompanied by a Bid Securing Declaration in the format presented in the bid document. Late bids will be rejected.  Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders'representatives who choose to attend on 12November, 2012 at 14:00hours (local time) at Address (3).
