Locations

Wallis and Futuna

Wallis and Futuna is a French overseas collectivity with a small population and limited domestic economic activity. Public sector employment and fiscal transfers from France underpin income levels and infrastructure development. Economic diversification opportunities are constrained by geographic isolation, limited private sector capacity and high import dependence. Development priorities include improving transport and digital connectivity, expanding renewable energy use and maintaining essential public services. Long-term prospects remain closely linked to continued fiscal support and improved regional integration.
