Name of the assignment: Contract # KHSTTIRP-C1/TR-02 "Capacity building of experts in medical education from Republic ofKazakhstan in accreditation of Post-Graduate Medical Education (Subcomponent #1)"
Background: The Kazakhstan Health Technology Transfer and Institutional Reform Project is an initiative co-financed by theGovernment of Kazakhstan and the World Bank. The project's objective is to introduce international standards and build long-terminstitutional capacity in the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan (MOH RK) and related health institutions in supportof key health sector reforms pursuedby the Government of Kazakhstan in the context of the State Health Care Reform and DevelopmentProgram.
Expected duration of the assignment: December, 2011.
Expected outcomes from accomplishment of the contract:
It is expected that at the end of the proposed overseas workshop, attendees should be able to identify the roles and purposes ofa system of accreditation of postgraduate medical education programs and be ableto apply the underlying principles in differentlevels of implementation activities.
Qualifications:
The Consultant should meet the following qualification requirements:
# Experience in the medical education accreditation process;
# Experience in organization and provision of training and study tours in health policy and/or medical education accreditation;
# Prior to beginning of the study tour, have in place all necessary agreements and arrangements with key stakeholder agenciesrequired to properly carry out this assignment and fully reach its objective;
# Have in place competent specialists/international experts able to ensure the fulfilment of the requirements in accordance withTerms of reference.
The Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan now invites eligible consultants to indicate their interest in providingthe services.Interested consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (brochures,description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc.).Consultants may associate to enhance their qualifications.
A consultant will be selected in accordance with the procedures set out in the World Bank's Guidelines: Selection and Employmentof Consultants by World Bank Borrowers (May 2004 edition) through "Consultant Qualifications" method.
