Description: This technical assistance facility aims to improve the environment and well-being of vulnerable populations, especially women, in Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe and Latin America. It seeks to support small-scale financial institutions that are supported by the Aequitas Impact Investment Fund (P01202001). Technical assistance seeks to help small-scale financial institutions and their clients by improving the availability of financial products and services to underserved populations, including women, youth, small and medium enterprises, and smallholder farmers. Project activities include: (1) supporting financial institutions in reducing the ecological footprint of their operations; (2) training in financial education for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, especially those run by women; and (3) supporting financial institutions in distributing gender-sensitive, climate-change-smart financial products and services to micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, especially women entrepreneurs.
Global Affairs Canada (GAC) is the federal department responsible for managing Canada's diplomatic and consular relations, international trade, and foreign aid. Headquartered at the Lester B. Pearson Building at 125 Sussex Drive in Ottawa, Ontario, the main office acts as the core command center for shaping Canadian foreign policy. The headquarters team coordinates nationwide and global strategies, supporting the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Minister of International Trade, and the Minister of International Development.
The main office in Ottawa directs a vast network of over 175 missions, embassies, and high commissions spread across the globe. Policy makers and analysts at this central site design programs for global peace, human rights, and international law.
