Objectives: The Archipelagic and Island States (AIS) Forum was established to promote collaboration and concrete development cooperation among archipelagic and island nations, addressing crucial issues like climate change, blue economy, marine plastic debris, and good maritime governance. It aims to facilitate cooperation and establish strategic alliances among states characterized by their archipelagic or island geographical features. The forum seeks to transition to an International Organization (IO) status, fostering collaboration and unity, and implement approaches to tackle challenges at both regional and global levels.
