LOAN-4411 IND: Building India's Clean Plant Program - Research Associate (ICAR) - 1 (57041-001)

Objectives: Horticultural crops are vital for India’s food security and provide income and employment opportunities, particularly for rural women. The lack of healthy and reliable plant material is a major constraint in the production, productivity, and profitability of these crops. To address this, the Government of India has launched the Clean Plant Program (CPP) for producing clean planting materials for important fruit and nut crops. This program is implemented by the Department of Agriculture and Farmer’s Welfare, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmer’s Welfare, National Horticulture Board and ICAR. The objective of the assignment is to support ICAR HQ and CPP associated ICAR institutes in implementing, monitoring, and coordinating activities aligned to the CPP design.
