The Government of Malawi has received financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Skills for a Vibrant Economy (SAVE) Project, and intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contract for Construction of School of Fashion Design at Natural Resources Campus (NRC) in Lilongwe

  1. The Lilongwe University of Agriculture & Natural Resources (LUANAR) now invites sealed Bids from eligible Bidders for The Construction of School of Fashion Design and associated External Works at NRC Campus in Lilongwe the estimated construction period is 12 months.
  1. Bidding will be conducted through national competitive procurement using a Request for Bids (RFB), and theBuilding Contractorsinvited to bid for the project must be one currently registered with National Construction Industry Council (NCIC) in the Unlimited Building Category.
  1. Interested eligible Bidders may obtain further information from Lilongwe University of Agriculture & Natural Resources (LUANAR), Procurement and Disposal of Assets Manager, Email: imakhambera@luanar.ac.mw or cnyirongo@luanar.ac.mw and inspect the bidding document during office hours from 08.30 Hrs to 16.00 Hrs at the address given below.

  1. The bidding document in English may be purchased by interested eligible Bidders upon the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a nonrefundable fee of MK50,000.00. The method of payment will be Cash at the address below 9 (a) and the hard copies of the document will be provided and soft copies of the document will be sent to the email indicated on the bid collection sheet.
  1. Bids must be delivered to the address below 9 (b) on or before Friday, 21st February, 2025 at 10:00am. Electronic Bidding will not be permitted. Late Bids will be rejected. Bids will be publicly opened in the presence of the Bidders’ designated representatives and anyone who chooses to attend at the address below 9 (c) on Friday, 21st February, 2025 at 10:00am. Further, note that the quotes must be provided in Malawi Kwacha
  1. All Bids must be accompanied by a Bid-Security of MK10,000,000.00. The Bid Security shall be submitted using the Bid Security Form included in Section IV of the Request for Bids (RFB) document.
  1. All Bids must be accompanied by a Bid-Securing Declaration Form and the Letter of Acceptance of the World Bank’s Anti-corruption Guidelines and Sanctions Framework.
  1. The Procuring Entity shall hold a Mandatory Pre – Bid Meeting and site visit as follows:
