Onboarding of Communities to the Anticipatory Climate Risk Insurance Scheme in Fiji

Objectives: The objective of this tender is to onboard communities in Fiji to an Anticipatory Climate Risk Insurance Scheme, which is part of the Pacific Insurance and Climate Adaptation Programme (PICAP) aimed at enhancing financial preparedness and resilience among governments and communities in Pacific Small Island Developing States against climate disasters. Specific goals include piloting a climate risk insurance scheme for 10 communities, testing digital payment infrastructure for anticipatory payouts, and increasing literacy and awareness on insurance and disaster risk management. The initiative also targets vulnerable populations such as smallholder farmers and aims to reduce government expenditure on disaster recovery.
