Afghanistan’s infrastructure base remains severely underdeveloped after decades of conflict, with major gaps in transport, electricity generation and water systems. American Samoa is an unincorporated territory of the United States with an economy traditionally anchored in tuna processing and government employment, and its development strategy increasingly emphasises modernising infrastructure and diversifying economic activity. Recent territorial programmes have advanced numerous transportation and community infrastructure projects, expanded broadband and digital connectivity, and mobilised U.S. recovery funding to support capital improvements and economic resilience.
