Project:
The aforementioned project objective is to reduce soil degradation and erosion, stabilize the water balance and contribute to the stabilization and enhancement of agricultural and pastoral productivity. This contributes to the Somaliland National Development Plan III strategic objective PROSO-1 to improve resilience and livelihoods of rural communities by promoting sustainable production in livestock and agriculture with sound natural resource management.
To pursue these objectives, the project takes a catchment-based approach, combining measures in the area of soil and water conservation, water harvesting and accompanying measures. The project is also intended to contribute to conflict prevention by promoting sustainable land management and by increasing water availability.
