Objectives: In the Philippines, Indigenous Peoples, especially women, face economic and social disparities despite the country's UNDRIP adoption. Problems include limited access to education, healthcare, and financial services, tenurial insecurity, and investment scarcity, exacerbated by cultural and gender norms, hindering indigenous women's participation in governance and economy. Notably, 60% of indigenous people reside in Mindanao. The I-LEAD project focuses on uplifting indigenous women and girls through entrepreneurship and leadership training, rights awareness, and addressing gender-based exclusion. It aims to improve governance, livelihood, income, and policy support for women and girls in Mindanao.
