Management of Bio-Medical Waste Produced by UNRWA Health Centers at UNRWA Jordan Field Office (JFO)

Objectives: 1. Ensure Regulatory Compliance: The objective is to ensure all waste management activities comply fully with regulations set by the Department of Medical Waste Management, Environment Law No. 52 of 2006, and Hazardous Waste Management and Handling Regulations of 2003. 2. Establish a Reliable Waste Management System: Aiming to set up an efficient system for regular bio-medical waste handling which includes collection, transportation, treatment, and disposal. 3. Promote Environmental and Public Health Safety: Objectives include minimizing the risks associated with bio-medical waste through proper containment and sterilization. 4. Enhance Operational Efficiency: Streamlining waste management processes to support healthcare services without interruption, providing a safe, hygienic environment. 5. Mitigate Risks and Liabilities: Focusing on reducing risks related to non-compliance or improper disposal by engaging experts in hazardous waste management.
