Projects on the Implementation of CBAM in the Nordic countries - Analysis of the degree to which CBAM is assumed to affect competitiveness in the green transition in the future

Objectives: The Nordic Environment and Economy Programme 2025–2027 under the Nordic Council of Ministers invites applications for a project on the implementation of CBAM in Nordic countries, analyzing its impact on competitiveness during the green transition. A critical component of this project involves exploring potential extensions of the CBAM system to include indirect emissions, products downstream from the current scope, and new industries, while assessing how these changes affect the Nordic region and global emission pricing dynamics. Completing this project involves producing a detailed report, supported by literature and potentially supplemented by quantitative analysis, which delineates how these shifts influence consumption-based emissions and administrative arrangements in Nordic nations, among other factors.
