Objectives: The Auditor General’s Office (AGO) in the Maldives aims to strengthen its audit capabilities, particularly in fiscal policy evaluation, revenue audits, and the Whole of Government Accounts (WGA). This objective extends to aligning with the Fiscal Responsibility Act (FRA) and the Public Finance Act (PFA), with a focus on enhancing transparency and accountability. The program's goals include developing robust audit frameworks, improving audit methodologies, and conducting in-depth training to equip audit teams with advanced tools and methodologies for evaluating fiscal strategies, debt sustainability, macroeconomic assumptions, and public financial management. Moreover, the program seeks to implement international best practices in information system audits to handle associated risks more effectively.
