International consultant on integrated land use planning

Objectives: The United Nations Development Program in Kazakhstan, in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, is carrying out the UNDP-GEF project titled “Promotion of Sustainable Agricultural Production System and Conservation of Landscape Ecosystems in Northern Kazakhstan.” The project's primary aim is to facilitate the broad adoption of sustainable land management technologies and conservation methodologies, while promoting "green" value chains. This approach seeks to mitigate the degradation of productive agricultural lands and forests by piloting sustainable land use and ecosystem management at the landscape level, providing support for decision-making on national and provincial levels. The project is structured into four key components: integrated land use planning, development of agricultural environmental incentives and financial support for sustainable production, conservation and restoration of habitats, and raising public awareness on sustainable food production.
