Objectives: This tender seeks a qualified National Consultant to assume the role of Water Expert within the UNDP Mongolia's project "Support National Biodiversity Strategies and Action Plans Update and the 7th National Report." The key objective of this consultancy is to provide expert technical input and analysis for the conservation of Mongolia’s freshwater, wetland, and peatland ecosystems, aligned with the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework and the Convention on Biological Diversity. Emphasis is placed on identifying conservation priorities, evaluating trends and pressures on these vital ecosystems, and formulating policy recommendations to guide regulatory frameworks, finance mechanisms, and contribute to national reporting obligations. The tender requires the consultant to collaborate with a GIS expert to integrate geospatial data in ecosystem assessments and biodiversity finance planning to advance national biodiversity monitoring capabilities.
