Objectives: The Fiji Tourism Development Program in Vanua Levu, supported by the World Bank, seeks to foster sustainable tourism development in Vanua Levu and Taveuni by enhancing resilient infrastructure, essential services, and emergency preparedness. The project's objectives are to bolster the resilience and sustainability of the tourism industry, aid economic diversification and high-value growth, and ensure alignment with government plans. Phase I involves a baseline survey to collect critical data on key performance indicators, such as infrastructure accessibility, tourism-related employment, MSME sales growth, and environmental sustainability measures, to guide evidence-based decision-making and adaptive management in tourism development.
