Environment Policy Specialist

Objectives: The tender aims to engage an Environment Policy Specialist to lead and provide initial input for the GEF8 Global Biodiversity Finance Programme across Cook Islands, Niue, & Samoa. The specialist will work to construct Biodiversity Finance Plans that analyze local economic systems, map current financing mechanisms, and assess biodiversity objectives and financial needs. Coordinating with national and international entities, the role entails producing detailed policy reviews, conducting stakeholder analyses, and fostering biodiversity finance solutions that amplify funding, phase out harmful financial impacts, and optimize resource expenditures. The outcome is focused on achieving aligned national and global biodiversity targets.
