Objectives: The tender aims to enhance knowledge and skills necessary for the practical application of carbon legislation in Mongolia's energy sector by providing training and research to aid energy sector policymakers, engineers, and managers. The project focuses on two main objectives: introducing Carbon Market, Pricing, and Tax Implementation, and setting up a Measurement, Reporting, and Verification (MRV) system for Mongolia’s energy industry. The first objective centers on assessing the feasibility of carbon taxing and establishing emission quotas, while the second objective focuses on the MRV's role in supporting Mongolia's carbon reduction goals and the implementation of a carbon tax policy by 2026. The overall goal is to align Mongolia’s energy strategy with international carbon reduction efforts, promoting sustainable energy development.
